So. Much. Sound. And that’s not a bad thing. Black Box Revelation, or BBR as they are affectionately called, bring the Rock back to Rock & Roll. The duo, consisting of guitarist Jan Paternoster and drummer Dries Van Dijck, are mesmerizing to watch, their chemistry palpable. And did I mention they are from Brussels, Belgium?
BBR has been touring like mad recently, playing with Canadian rockers, The Sheepdogs. Their set last Saturday at Bowery Ballroom was a non-stop, in your face (in a good way) noisefest. Van Dijck banged on the drums with a big grin, alternating a maraca for a drumstick in his right hand. Paternoster brought an equal amount of energy to the stage. Impossible to watch without a smile on your face.
Their tour finishes out at the end of October in NOLA for Voodoo Music Experience.
